Common pricing structures

Pricing varies by company, loss type, file complexity, and the amount of follow-through included.

  • Flat fee for a defined estimate or review
  • Minimum fee for smaller assignments
  • Percentage-based fee tied to an agreed result or estimate change
  • Hourly or project pricing for complex commercial, fire, or multi-trade files
  • Separate charges for inspections, measurements, reports, travel, or Matterport capture
02

Complex files require more estimating time

A straightforward roof estimate is different from a multi-room water loss or a fire project involving structural, mechanical, cleaning, contents, and finish trades. File organization, missing documentation, revision volume, deadlines, and required research can all affect the fee.

03

Ask exactly what the fee includes

Confirm whether the price includes the initial scope comparison, Xactimate estimate, documentation organization, submission support, questions, revisions, status updates, and closeout. A low writing fee may not include the administrative work that follows submission.

  • Number of revisions included
  • Expected turnaround and rush-file terms
  • Required intake documents
  • Who communicates with whom
  • Inspection or report costs
  • When the fee is earned and invoiced

Get the agreement in writing

The written service agreement should define the scope, fee structure, minimums, exclusions, customer responsibilities, and the provider’s role. Claim It Solutions provides estimating and supplement administration; it does not promise a carrier outcome or make coverage decisions.
